Smallmouth action was good right off the morning start. Weather was excellent with light wind. |
Bait used was large golden shiners purchased from Poor Richards Bait Shop. |
Smallmouth pound for pound give quite a good fight. Jumping and diving is the norm for these bronze backs. |
The SeaWolf V party also was enjoying the smallmouth action. Smallmouth were the only species caught Monday. |
Tuesday action start was slower as the cold front had moved in. Wind was near 20 mile per hour out of the southwest making it hard to find a place to hide in the bay. At 11 am the wind pickup to 25 gusting 30 and the fish turn on with every cast a smallie was on the line. Time to quite! To rough and the clock has wound down. Several large mouth and rock bass were among the many fish caught on Tuesday. |
Smallies are a lot of fun to catch. The captain enjoys catching a few of these tackle busting smallies. Water temp in the bay was 61 degrees. Quite a difference from the lake were the temp is 48 to 50 degrees. All the fish were caught on large golden shiners. Tight Lines |
