This early May day began with a nice smallie on the line. Fishing Presque Isle Bay is always good at this time.

Good size fish were hitting and dancing on the water. The battle of the smallmouth on the line is awesome.

Lots of doubles were boated this day. Captain also had a good many on the line adding to the fun. Water depth fished was 5 to 10 feet.

The biggest smallmouth caught was 20.25 inches also on a golden shiner purchased at Poor Richards bait shop.

The boys boated 57 good size bronze backs and three nice size perch this day.

Northern pike also like the shiners. The pike hit more near the top of the water than the smallies.
Water temperature this day was 57 degrees. But by Mid May finds the temperature dropped off to the low 50’s

Tight lines Captain Ron
