WALLEYE:

Denny Halula of New Alexandria, PA came in with a nice 9 pound 5 ounce Walleye for Angler Award. It was 30 inches long and had a girth of 17 ¼ inches. He caught it out in 65 ft of water West of Trout Run on a “Renowsky”. The color was Blue/Silver.

Nine year old Damien Partin of Oakdale, PA brought in his 6 pound 12 ½ ounce Walleye for Angler Award. It was 28 inches long and had a girth of 16 inches. He caught it out in 68 ft of water straight out of Walnut Creek on a plug. His color was green with black strips.

Ten year old Zack Ansinger brought in a 6 pound 2 ounce Walleye for Angler Award. It was 26 inches long and had a girth of 14 ½ inches. He caught it out in 70 ft of water straight out of Walnut Creek on a Renowsky. His color was gold.

Most of the people I have talked to say they are getting them in 65-72 ft of water straight out of Walnut Creek and most are using lures/plugs.

PERCH:

I know they are getting Perch out in 62 – 65 ft of water straight out of Walnut Creek but no one is bringing them in for Angler Award. We have had quite a few boaters say they limited.

STEELHEAD:

I have had numerous people calling and asking about the Steelhead. All I can say is there are a couple in the streams but the run is not here. The boaters are just now starting to catch them in the trenches. The water temperature at this writing is 71 degrees and the air temperature is going to be in the high 70’s and mid 80’s till next week at least. Look For the water temperature to go around 65 degrees and look for boats trolling in front of the creeks. That is a very good indication that the fish are trying to come in. The first cold rain we get usually will bring them in. Call our office during office hours if you wish to find out what the temperature is and if the boats are trolling in front of the creeks. Our number is 814-833-2464.
