This week has been pretty slow for the fisher person. There was only two days this week that was good enough to go out.

Perch and Walleye seem to be feeding on the fleas out in the water.

PERCH: are out in 53-65 ft of water. If you go straight out of Walnut you will find the pack. Just go a little east or west of the pack and set up. They seem to be moving out deeper. Emerald shiners are the preferred bait but they also are eating salted minnows.

WALLEYE: can still be found in close (28 – 40 ft) and out on the north side of the first trench (65-73 ft). In close they are the good eaters and out deep are the bigger ones. Watermelon, Black and Silver, lemon and lime seem to be the colors. Depending on the weather. Worm harnesses or spoons off the downriggers. Hot & Tots were good too. There is no preference.

STEELHEAD: are starting to show up out in the trenches. I have not seen any signs of them in close yet. The ones that are being caught are out in the trenches and few and far between. You can usually start seeing them come into the creeks when the water temperature comes down to around 64 degrees. It is now 71 degrees. A couple stragglers may be caught in the creeks.
