Coho,Steelies and Brown Trout - 9/22/03

The south wind was brisk and the fish were biting near shore Monday.
Started at Walnut: Each pass was good for at least one strike.
Trout and Salmon are great fighters and do manage to win the tackle busting battle more that one would like. Many times in the first few second they manage to wrap the line around the lure in a way that the line just pulls the lure out of its mouth or just shake it lose on one of its leaping jumps.

The Captain even catches a nice Coho Salmon. These fish like red and black shallow running lures. The floaters are nice that they don't snag when stopping or slowing to net a fish.

Moved to Trout Run where the anglers on shore were having a good time. Many had to have limited out.

A nice brown Trout hit a red bomber. They do have a nice look to them.

Other boats were also doing well. Singles and doubles, on and off makes for some great fishing fun.

The morning ended with a boat limit of Coho Salmon, Steelhead and a Brown Trout.
The beginning for the salmonoids has begun and will bring some EXCELLENT ACTION for the next couple months near shore.
