Pickeral fishing is very slow in the Canadian waters, have tried out of Port Burwell and Long Point last 3 weekends and have only been able to get 1 at the end of the point. On the radio people are getting them here and there but not in the quantity we were used to getting 10 years ago, something must change or they will be extinct! Although rainbow were very hot on Saturday July 13, we hooked 15 fish and landed 10. 8 rainbows, 1 Coho Salmon and 1 pickeral. Tried Port Burwell on Sunday very slow but managed to get 3 rainbows one weighing in at 14.3lbs a very nice treat for grandma who is very ill. It doesn't seem to matter what you try for lures, blue and silver spoons, five of diamonds, hotlips seem to work best whether or not tipped off by worms, planer boards seem to be a must this year. Hope everyone has a safe season and all the best to the pickeral, I hope the Americans can push some our way ..Please and Thank You
