: Noticed several hundred if not thousands of dead trout looking fingerlings floating on the water at approx. 2 miles North West of Presquile in 50 ft. of water on June 8th. They were covered with white stuff from decay so it was hard to figure out what they were. They were all consistent in size at about 6 inches.

: They had a trout like face and the only distinguishing feature was a black tail. Don't know if the black tail was from decay. Anyone recognizing a fingerling with a black tail please let me know what you think it was. I did call the fish commission but may have been too late for them to find them as they were on the verge of totally falling apart. Anyone else see them?

we were out a couple of weeks ago the large emerald shiners were dying off, possibly to to the end of their life cycle. we were out off of the mountain trolling for lakers and noticed them.
