Hey guys, it's worth that 2 hour trip to visit us here in maumee. The fishing was excellent today with lots of fish and size too. Please throw back your females - they are not good eating - take your picture and release!|
Lots of people 4/18/04 too! We fished near buttomwood using the same thing floaters with 1/4 oz split shot and things worked just fine. I saw dozens of fish handled by others in the 6 hours I was down there today. Most guys were throwing fish back after they got their limit. There was a huge pocket of guys just sorting through walleye across the river from me and this is where they were catching all their fish.
Anyway it was the same game in most any color as long as you were getting the tick-tick-tick of the bottom and you weren't too heavy and getting snagged every other cast.
There is the annual green moss growing in the river. I suggest cleaing off your jig every time it comes in - even if it is just a little. Think of baitfish in the water - they don't have that dripping off of them.
