** The 15" walleye minimum size limit remains in effect for the entire
season. Anglers are reminded that the daily bag limit for trout and
salmon on Lake Erie and its tributaries is 2, beginning September 1
through May 15, 2005. The minimum size limit is 12 inches.**

Surface temperatures are slightly above freezing.

There is not much fishing on open Lake water due to iced-in ramps.

Steelhead (December 28, 2004)

Most rivers and streams are in poor shape: stream reaches are locked
up with the latest cold snap. Smaller streams have been frozen with
thick side ice and slushy flows. Heavy snow has blanketed the area.
The next thaw will raise streams to high (unfishable) flows. Look for
headwaters and smaller tribs to open up first.
