*Lake Erie surface temperatures are between 33 and 40 degrees. Be sure to
check the latest marine forecast for up-to-date lake conditions.*

The open water fishery is becoming very limited. Recent gale force winds
have greatly reduced water clarity. Use extreme caution when boating in
near-freezing water temperatures.

Steelhead:

Lake Erie tributaries crested on Tuesday December 30 after recent snow melt
and rains. When stream conditions recover, spawn sacks or jig and maggots
work best, although fly anglers will also catch fish on sucker spawn, wooly
buggers, and other choices. Check with local bait shops for up-to-date
river conditions.
