BASIC BOATING COURSE OFFERED

A free, two-part Pennsylvania Basic Boating Course will be offered at Harrisburg River Rescue on April 3 and April 5, 2000. The sessions will run from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. both nights.
Successful completion of the course will earn the participant a Pennsylvania Boating Safety Education Certificate. This certificate is now mandatory in Pennsylvania for the operators of Personal Watercraft (PWC) - specialized boats known by brand names such as Jet Ski, SeaDoo, Wave Runner or Tiger Shark.

While not mandatory for other boat operators, classes such as the Pennsylvania Basic Boating Course supply boaters with practical information so they can make more informed decisions on the water. Instructors provide students with information to help them reduce the risk of injury and conflict on the water.

Interested persons can register for the course by calling 236-5947 extension 902.
